Such a prince is more fascinating than frightening to new girl Bella Swan (KristenStewart), who moves to the rainy-gray town of Forks, Wash., to live with her dad (Billy Burke), thelocal sheriff who’s puzzled by a series of “animal attacks.” On her first day at school, Bella appears to (visibly) nauseate her lab partner, Edward (Robert Pattinson). Turns out the scent of her blood is this vampire’s “brand of heroin,” and his struggle not to kill her causes an irresistible pulltoward her. Whether he’s attracted for the normalreasons or because she smells especially sweet tohim is vague in the book and even less clear on-screen; nonetheless, Bella falls hopelessly in lovewith Edward, which sets her on a dangerous path when a few nomad vampires show up in town, one particularly keen on tracking the human. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen), Twilight is full offunny moments–not all of which are intentional–and the casting, from Stewart to Bella’s self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on.

I had read all four of Stephen Meyers books in the Twlight series and the movie I had seen and I had to own it, I already have watched it at least 15 times. I Love it!!!!!
I thought that this movie would be a teen archetype, but it was fabulous! I love it so much, I bought the books and have only taken three weeks to read the first three books and get to halfway through the fourth! Highly recommended.
Of course not as good as the book, but something about the Twilight world that just taps into my inner girl. Even though the film is not as good, I can still appreciate/advocate/support what it is trying to achieve for the female audience. I want more films like this in the future!–so buy it!
There has been several bad vampire films in recent years, The Hunger, Interview with a Vampire, Dracula 2000, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and now Twilight, to name a few. This film took the genre of vampires and turned it inside out, making the vampire more likeable, or homogenized. Big mistake, the story loses most of it’s bite. A better attempt at similiar themes was the Underworld Trilogy, which combines action, good visual effects, and a more well developed storyline.
I know this movie got a lot of flack, but I LOVED IT! I thought they chose the right people for the most part to play the parts! I thought that they improved on the book in some ways! I saw this movie more then a dozen times in the theater, and I pre-ordered the 2 disc DVD. I love the Twilight Saga and can’t wait until I see the rest of the movies!
